Creative writing is used in almost every field including business. marketing and Advertising are two areas where creative writing has a lot of importance. Right from designing sentences for advertisement to writing catchphrases for the products or even designing brand names creative writing is very useful in business. However, apart from business creative writing is used in many fields since it has different types. Following are a few types of creative writing :

1) Blogging :
A blog is categorized as a publishing platform. Blogging is a technology which displays content on the internet for others to read. Factual blogs are the ones which have facts in them and creative writing is used very less in these blogs. On the other hand, the blogs which write about opinions or storytelling use creative writing extensively. creative writing on the crucial part of the blogs which share views and opinions.
Various authors, journalists, and celebrities write blogs to share their views. Creative writing is also used by students of linguistics, on their blogs, as a part of their education. Various blogs have been developed these days to engage audiences and creative writing is used in all such blogs.
2) Scripts :
Scripts are an integral part of various artistic mediums. There used to write screenplays of movies and plays, or even video games. YouTube is gaining popularity everywhere in terms of user engagement. All the YouTube videos require a script. Script help to makes the video structured and presentable and writing the script is not possible without creative writing. Scripts are also important for advertisements where again, creative writings come into the picture. Scripts are used even in case of social media posts and this is where creative writing again turns out to be helpful.
3) Journals :
A journal is different than a diary which helps to keep a track of events. A journal takes on a role of memoir which can keep a note of everything within a specific topic or a heading. Journals are also scientific in nature which record the latest activities that are happening in a particular field. For example, Journal of marketing, Journal of science etc. Scientific journals do not require creative writing but regular journals extensively use the same. creative writing is an integral part of regular journals which keep a note of memoirs.
Recently a new trend has been seen it is called Vlogs. These are video logs which a person records by sitting in front of a camera and records his daily activities. These Vlogs usually do not require a script since they are recorded live and hence the contribution of creative writing is very less in these Vlogs. A journal which is intended to be kept as an autobiography may require very little creative writing to make the explanation of daily activities that are more interesting and engaging for the reader.
4) Poetry/Limericks/Ad songs :
Poetry is exclusively a form of creative writing. Poems can be written in any format and also in any form or prose that the author prefers. the use of creative writing in poetry is 100% since the author or in this case, the poet is required to form words based on ideas which are practically out of nowhere. limerick, on the other hand, is a form of words which is considered often funny rude or sarcastic. writing a limerick also requires creativity and creative writing experience since it is smaller than a poem but longer than a tagline.
Limericks are also used in advertising to form short paragraphs describing the product. Ad songs require creative writing since they have to describe the entire product in seconds, including its features and benefits. This is a types of creative writing which requires a lot of creativity. Combination of words which songs are often seen in ad songs. Designing taglines is also a form of creative writing which explains about the product in a very short combination of words which is usually shorter than a sentence. For example, the tagline of Nike is Just Do It.
5) Letters :
Communication by letters formed a very important part of communication for a very long time. Even today is out of business communications are done by letters. creative writing forms an important aspect of letter writing made be personal or for official purposes. writing a business letter about a meeting that has been conducted in very cordial terms requires extensive knowledge of creative writing.
Even a simple fact for conveying the news to the media requires creative writing. there are different types of letters used in business communication like an apology letter or a letter for answering a query or a letter noting down the minutes of the meeting. All of these letters require knowledge of creative writing.
6) Essays:
Essay writing requires knowledge of creative writing. this is specifically true for descriptive or personal essays where creative writing plays a very important role. Creative writing essays can be about the product reviews or about a movie review. while there are a couple of aspects which are few factual in the essay the majority of the portion is formed by creative writing. updating a company blog with articles also requires a knowledge of creative writing since many times essays are written in blogs.
7) Speeches :
It can be an informational speech on an inspirational speech, creative writing has a lion’s share in every speech. The speeches given by many leaders are written by different creative writers with the help of the points that are provided. The writers then combine these points with their creative writing knowledge and design a beautiful inspirational speech. These days motivational speaker has emerged as a career. Being a motivational speaker requires to deliver inspirational speeches all the time. There are limits to what you can write factually.
The majority of people agree that motivational speeches are composed with examples of various people who have been successful in their own fields. well, this information is not creative visiting that information to the audience requires the knowledge of creative writing. The speeches are designed and scripts are written before giving a motivational speech where creative writing is used extensively to form an awe-inspiring speech.
8) Storytelling :
Storytelling requires extensive creative writing. It can be both fiction or nonfiction and only the percentage of creative writing differs in both of the types. popular forms of storytelling include novels, autobiographies, short stories, novellas, biographies, management books etc. while some may disagree to the fact that autobiography is required creative writing it still remains a fact that autobiographies require extensive creative writing to properly collect and present the facts of life of the person.
9) Advertising and Marketing :
Creative writing forms a very important part of Advertising and Marketing. Right from designing ads to writing taglines for catchphrases creative writing is involved in every aspect of advertising. These days digital marketing has taken up a significant portion of marketing. Designing posts of social media requires immense knowledge of creative writing. Content writing is also a part of digital marketing and writing content also requires knowledge of creative writing. The posts on social media have to be made engaging where creative writing comes in handy.
They should inform about the product its features and benefits as well as make sure that the message reaches the proper user in a short amount of words since nobody would have time to read the entire article. Also, content has become the king in the digital marketing world. Good content attracts numerous followers and content writing requires an immense amount of creativity. Care should be taken that plagiarism is avoided while writing the content and that is where creative writing comes and the picture whereby the writer will write the same article by researching about it extensively but writing about it in his own words.
10) Novels and all kinds of Books :
Writing a book is no easy task. It requires an immense amount of creative writing and factual combination. Novels of any kind require creative writing. It can be a book of Marketing by Kotler or it can be a book by Nobel Prize Winner in literature, Rabindranath Tagore, creative writing please a crucial role in every novel. A novel or a book has to be engaging so that the book does not lose the reader in between. Writing an eBook is no different from writing a novel and creative writing plays a very crucial role in it.
