This type of employee is hired to perform their job duties for a specific time. The employees can be classified into five categories based on the time they work for the organization.
1. Full-time employees
Full-time employees work for at least 40 hours or more than 40 hours a week. These types of employees are the most common type of employees that work for an organization.
They are entitled to benefits provided by the organization. For example, an accountant who does a 9-5 job, six days a week in an organization, will be classified as a full-time employee.
2. Part-time employees
Part-time employees are the employees who work for an organization for less than 40 hours a week. These types of employees are hired to perform the same duties as full-time employees.
The only difference between the two employees is the number of hours that they work. Many organizations pay their part-time employees on an hourly basis, and these employees are not entitled to any benefits provided by the organization.
3. Temporary employees
An organization hires temporary employees for a short time. These employees are hired for specific work. For example, an organization can hire employees to work on a particular project and lay off as soon as it is over.
Many agencies operate as an intermediary between organizations and employees. Organizations approach these agencies when they need temporary employees to work on a specific project.
4. Seasonal employees
Seasonal employees are the type of employees that are hired by organizations to work in a particular season.
Usually, organizations hire seasonal employees during the peak season, such as during the festival season like Christmas vacations. Seasonal employees are paid per hour basis or the amount of work they complete.
5. Leased employees
Leased employees are the employees that work through staffing agencies. An organization leases these employed for a specific time, say six months or one year or more extended period.
These employees work on the payroll for the staffing agencies.
Types of Employees Based on Their Personality
In an organization, different types of employees work. An employer is required to know the different types of employees to handle them effectively. The following are a few types of employees differentiated based on their personalities.
1. Architect
The employees with an architect type of personality are the ones who like to plan everything. This type of employee works when they know what the next step is.
Employees with architect personalities are boon for an organization as they can be relied on for long work projects.
2. Commander
It is rare to find employees with a commanding personality. Such employees are good at public speaking and are very good at planning and conveying their plans to others.
These employees can be good leaders for your organization. Commander employees are good at performing challenging tasks.
3. Inventor
Employees with an inventor personality are the backbone of an organization. They are less motivated to take the leading position. But are happy to work at backend and turning their theories and ideas into reality.
These employees are beneficial for the growth of an organization. These employees can be motivated by giving them creative work.
4. Advocate
Employees with an advocate personality are more inclined to protecting others. They are more concerned about how they make others feel and take every measure to make sure that they are comfortable.
These employees help in creating a friendly environment in the organization. This type of employee can be motivated by giving them jobs that help others.
5. Visionary
Employees with visionary personalities are happy to work on challenging and new work. They find it annoying to perform day-to-day jobs. Such employees believe that they are always right and take every measure to prove themselves right.
It is very tricky to work with employees that have a visionary personality. They can be motivated by triggering them, saying it is impossible to achieve what they are saying.
6. Leader
Every organization seeks the quality of a leader in the employees that they want to hire. Such employees have excellent people skills. They take every job with great seriousness and have the ability to make people work as they want.
They care about how the people in their team feel and think. These types of employees are good at working with other people. The best can be gotten from them by giving them opportunities to work with others.
7. Mediator
The mediator personality is quite common in employees. The employees with mediator personality are both concerned about their personal growth and the growth of the organization.
Employees with such character are motivated by external rewards. They are good at taking instructions and delivering results as expected from them.
8. Inspectors
The employees with an inspector personality are good following the well-established system. They are less concerned about creating a new system or making changes in the existing system.
They are responsible and have an excellent ability to concentrate at work allotted to them.
9. Free spirit
This type of personality is commonly seen in young employees. They are the employees who are highly creative but feel bored to work in 9-5 jobs or wearing formal clothing at work.
Even though it is challenging to manage this type of employee, they can prove to be an asset for the organization if appropriately handled.
10. Administrator
The employees with administrator personality are good at managerial work. They are the employees who are least interested in theoretical work and enjoy doing practical work. Such employees are good at deciding workable goals for themselves as well as for others.11. Protector:
The employees with protector personality are very simple-minded and easy to handle employees.

11. Experimenter
This type of employee is those who will waste most of their allotted time and do their job in a short time to meet the deadline. These employees are creative and interested in finding practical and feasible ways to complete a task.
They are bad at following rules but are extremely good at their job.
12. Provider
This type of employee is very responsible for the organization and the people who work for the organization. They will ensure that every task is completed on time and will always be ready to help others.
13. Entrepreneur
Entrepreneurs are the employees who are good at turning plans into reality. They are not scared of challenges and don’t fear to explore unknown territories. This type of employee can be relied on to perform tasks that they haven’t done before.
14. Artist
The employees with artist personalities are creative people and are easy to work with. They are more focused on work at hand and get less bothered by the future.
These employees will always come up with creative solutions for problems that they face.
15. Entertainer
Employees with an entertainer personality are both annoying and pleasant to work with. Their carefree and happy character helps others in relieving their stress.
However, sometimes their same nature becomes distractions for others. This type of employee performs their job to please their managers.
